Classroom on the Bay. will engage teachers already committed to watershed education in making a contribution to the creation of Monterey Bay fisheries curriculum. The curriculum will meet the needs of educators to teach history and ecology of the Monterey Bay fisheries and link that knowledge to preservation activities in the watershed. Preserving History Through Art
PRESERVING HISTORY THROUGH ART, a mantra brought over to Classroom on the Bay and Monterey Boat Heritage from "Galeria Tonantzin" with 20 years of featured art exhibits. Dr. Jennifer Colby and Janet Martinez created, curated and marketed the exhibits. Many exhibits included performances that enhanced the story; music, dance, readings, demonstrations, and/or various types of presentations including interaction with the artists.
The following is only a sample of featured art exhibits.
