Partners for the Advancement of Teaching at California State University Monterey Bay, headed by Jennifer Colby, PhD, MMPublishing, a local story documentation publisher and family supporters (Andy Siino, Mark Siino and Janet Martinez). Classroom on the Bay plans to continue to develop relationships with local maritime historians, marine-life researchers, marine biologists and marine ecologists in order to develop a mentorship-leadership program for college students.
In 2005, IF, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Watsonville, CA awarded a small grant for Classroom on the Bay to begin developing a Youth Environmentalist Activist Program utilizing science, art and storytelling emphasizing the historical Monterey sardine fishing industry, the boat builders of that era and the impact on the ocean. Your sponsorship will help provide fuel for outings, costumes for presentations, training movies, training materials, handouts, advertising of classes, continued curriculum development, scholarships . . .
